Sherrie Lynette Davis' Obituary
Sherrie Lynette Davis, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on January 14, 2025. She was born on August 26, 1973 in Tuskegee, Alabama at John Andrews Hospital to parents Winston Wendell Davis, Sr. and Hattie Mae (Parker) Streeter. She was the oldest of two. She joined St. John AME Church at an early age, where she was baptized. Sherrie attended Bullock County High School and graduated in 1991.After graduation, Sherrie moved to Huntsville, Alabama to pursue her degree at Alabama A&M University. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in 1997. She spent time working for Walmart until she began her career with The Boeing Company. Sherrie began working for The Boeing Company as an Engineer / Scientist in 1999, where she had a successful career for more than 25 years. She enjoyed the work she did and over the years gained a large work family and friends. The team often traveled and spent weeks at a time at a location, and worked long hours fulfilling the mission. During "crew rest days" Sherrie enjoyed spending time relaxing, shopping, and visiting different restaurants in the area, as she was a foodie.She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star (OES), PHA. Sherrie also picked up a hobby shooting pool and she absolutely loved the sport. She was a member of a pool league and won several trophies and awards.Sherrie was an affiliated member of the Doctrinal Bible Church in Huntsville, Alabama. She adored her church family, as did they. She was very committed to her bible studies, prayer, and relationship with God. Making it to church each weekend was a priority.Sherrie enjoyed traveling, going to the gym and walking, hanging out with friends and family, and visiting her favorite restaurants, specifically new restaurants that offered different types of new foods.She was preceded in death by grandparents, KP Parker and Minnie Dee Parker, Barbara Hill, and Grandfather Mr. Mile.Sherrie leaves to cherish her memory; Darius George of Toney, Alabama, her mother, Hattie Streeter, of Union Springs, Alabama, father, Winston Davis of Jonesboro, Georgia, three (3) brothers, Winston Davis Jr., Jonathan Davis, Wilbert Anderson, two (2) sisters, Sephra Sade Davis and Kristin Lenea Davis, 2 nieces, Reagan Lenea Armstrong and Autumn Anderson, 1 nephew, Ezra James Armstrong, five (5) uncles, Willie Parker (Mary), Willie Allen (Sarah), Winston Rodgers, Jerry Johnson, Martin Hill, eight (8) aunts, Minnie Crawford (Lovie), Loretta Johnson (Earl), Mattie Streeter, Barbara Faldowski, Lorene Allen, Joann Allen, Bertha Allen - Godmother, Dolores Allen, special cousin /sister, Teresa Parker, best friend Jaclyn Davis-Taylor, and a host of cousins, relatives, close friends and work family.
