Rosie M. Key's Obituary
Ms. Rosie Mae Key gained her heavenly wings and transitioned to her eternal resting place on Thursday, May 20, 2021, in Columbus, Georgia.
She was born to the late George Key, Sr., and Annie Bell Key on May 9, 1938 in Hurtsboro, Alabama. She attended Russell County Training School in Hurtsboro. She confessed faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Her compassionate love for everyone she knew, her comforting phone conversations, her laughter and warming smile will be sorely missed by those who knew her.
Rosie Mae was preceded in death by both parents, her loving daughter, Mary Ann Key; one sister, Inez Kearse; and three brothers: Will Key, Charlie Key, and Frank Key.
She leaves to cherish her memories three sons: Harold (Tracy) Key, Salem, AL; Steven (Cindy) Key, Phenix City, AL; and Michael (Leslie) Key, Atlanta, GA; three brothers: George Key, Jr., Orlando, FL; Johnny B. (Mary) Key, Orlando; and James E. Key, Hurtsboro; three sisters: Bertha (Arthur) Williams, Columbus GA; Annie Grace (Thomas) Miller, Yelm, WA; and Gloria (Perry) Watkins, Phenix City, AL; one sister-in-law, Mary Key, Orlando, FL; eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
