On Tuesday, February 14, 2023, Mr. John L. Rogers, Sr., like a mourning dove, took his wings and flew away to be at rest with the Lord. John was born on January 3, 1956, in Hurtsboro, Alabama, to Lizzie Mae Rogers. After graduating from Maynard Evans High School, he worked for Disney World for over 25 years, then he pursued his passion as a contractor. John confessed Christ at a young age and his favorite scripture was Psalms 23. John was an encourager, mentor, mechanic, disc jockey, home decorator, and so much more. John is preceded in death by his amazing, loving grandparents, Allen and Leola Rogers. He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Yolanda Brown, John L. Rogers, Jr., John D. Rogers. Bakarri L. Rogers, Lamarsa Rogers, Lamario Mikell, Jonathan W. Rogers, and Nicole Williams, all of Florida; twenty-three grand-children, eighteen great grandchildren; his siblings: Jimmie (Della) Rogers, Velma Harris, Sybaston Brown, and Colleen Jackson; one aunt, Sarah Rogers; two uncles: Cozell Rogers and Howard Rogers; a special cousin, Leola Rogers, a true friend and brother, George Warren. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
