Donald Lee Grant's Obituary
Donald L. "Shot" Grant age 72, passed away peacefully from his earthly life on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at his home in Hurtsboro, Alabama, surrounded and supported by his loving family. Donald was born on January 18, 1948, to Gentle and L. Z. Grant in Hurtsboro, Alabama.
Donald was a member of the Russell County Training School Class of 1967. He was drafted into the United States Army on May 7, 1968. During his tenure in the Army, Donald was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He was honorably discharged from the military on February 28, 1970.
Mr. Grant accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and joined the First Missionary Baptist Church in Hurtsboro under the leadership of Pastor Reverend Troy Clark.
He was preceded in death by both his parents and brother, Steven Douglass Grant. His memory will be cherished by his four sisters: Betty (Alonzo) Pace, Gloria Grant, and Mattie Thomas, all of Hurtsboro, and Linda Grant, of Phenix City, Alabama; a brother, General (Elizabeth) Grant, of Seale, Alabama; nieces , nephews, and other relatives and friends.
