Callie Mae Dozier's Obituary
On August 24, 1944, in the small town of Midway, Alabama, God blessed Benjamin andDollie Jordan, Sr. with their first baby girl, Callie Mae Jordan. From the very beginning,her life was a beautiful testimony of love, service, and unwavering faith.At an early age, Callie gave her life to Christ and became a faithful member of HayesHill Baptist Church, where she served wholeheartedly until her earthly journey ended.She was educated through the Bullock School System and carried the lessons of faith,humility, and hard work with her throughout her life.Callie began her working years in a pecan orchard, where she learned that life was notalways easy, but it was always worth giving your best. In November of 1966, she movedto Atlanta, Georgia, seeking greater opportunities, where she gained employment atthe Tech Hotel. Callie worked as a housekeeper for over 40 years, serving withdedication, care, and pride in everything she did. It was in Atlanta that she met and
married the love of her life, Arthur Frank Dozier, with whom she built a life filled withlove, laughter, and devotion.Callie had a heart that never knew a stranger. She fed the hungry, clothed those inneed, opened her home to many, and spread joy everywhere she went. Her smile couldlight up a room, and her laughter was a comfort to all who heard it. If you were blessedto know her, you were blessed beyond measure.She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Benjamin and Dollie Jordan, Sr.; herdevoted husband, Arthur Frank Dozier; and her brothers Arthur Jordan, BenjaminJordan, Jr., Larry Jordan, Sr., and Samuel Jordan.She leaves behind a legacy of love to be cherished by her children: two daughters,Kathleen Jordan of Jacksonville, FL, and Valerie Dozier of Atlanta, GA; and three sons,Jeffery Jordan of Atlanta, GA, Warrick Dozier of Atlanta, GA, and Derrick Dozier, Sr. ofAtlanta, GA.She also leaves to cherish her memory her beloved bonus children: Larry Smith(Deborah) of Decatur, GA; Sterling Smith (Valencia) of Hampton, GA; Timothy Tucker ofValley, AL; Melissa Tucker of Valley, AL; Denise Smith of Valley, AL; Carl Tucker of WestPoint, GA; and Katrina Smith of Birmingham, AL.She leaves behind her cherished siblings: five brothers-Eddie Lee Jordan (the late MaeWillie) of Atlanta, GA; Willie Hugh Jordan (Verna) of Columbus, GA; Otis Jordan ofColumbus, GA; Morris Jordan (the late Lurlean) of Atlanta, GA; and Terry Jordan (Rosie)of Midway, AL; and four sisters-Annie Adams (Donald) of Midway, AL; Elviria Person(the late Jesse) of Chicago, IL; Dolly Mae Jordan, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; and Brenda Hill (thelate Jerry) of Midway, AL.She also leaves behind her brothers-in-law, Joseph Lowe and John Dozier, both ofAtlanta, GA.Callie leaves to cherish her memory thirty-two grandchildren and twenty-ninegreat-grandchildren, including the children of her own children as well as her bonuschildren. She always made sure no one was ever left out of her love.She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who willforever hold her in their hearts.
Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she poured into every life she touchedwill live on forever. Callie Mae Dozier leaves behind not just memories, but a legacy ofkindness, faith, and unconditional love that will continue to guide her family forgenerations to come.
