Obituary for Isiah Luke
Mr. Isiah Luke passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at his home in Hurtsboro, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. (CST), Friday, December 1, 2017 at Shady Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, Hurtsboro, Alabama, with Pastor Annie R. Cannon, officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Rest Haven Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 1:00 - 6:00 P.M at Stovall Funeral Home, 605 Main Street, Hurtsboro, Alabama.
Mr. Luke was born in Hurtsboro, Alabama to the late Ellis Sr. and the late Irene Luke on July 14, 1958. He attended school in the Russell County school system and was member of the Shady Grove A.M.E. Zion Church.
He leaves to cherish his memories his lifelong companion, Gloria Thomas, and three daughters: Linda Horace of Phenix City, Alabama; Malisha Luke of Birmingham, Alabama; and Chatara Luke of Hurtsboro; one step-daughter, Chequitia (Jonathan) Taylor of Eufaula, Alabama; a son, Travius Luke of Hurtsboro, and four grandchildren: De’Narina Hawes, Zy’Quasha Horace, Daniya Hawes, and Jada Ford; four sisters: Hattie Luke of Phenix City, Alabama, Julia (Jimmie) Thomas, Brenda Joyce Washington, and Alice (Theodis) Thomas, all of Hurtsboro; two brothers, Jim Luke of Hatchechubbee, Alabama and Johnny Luke of Springville, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family extends a special “thank you” to the East Alabama Cancer Center and for the compassionate care of Compass of Auburn, Alabama.
