Obituary for Hattie Mae Lloyd
Hattie Lloyd, “Bea” or “Big Bea” as she was affectionately called, was born in Russell County, Alabama, on December 3, 1943. She was the fourth child of 10 born to Beatrice Allen and Smith Rias. She attended Russell County Training School in Hurtsboro, Alabama.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Hattie was an avid supporter of her church. She served as an Usher until her health failed. However, she continued to support her church until the end.
She was employed by Diversified Products Corporation in Opelika, Alabama, for several years. “Bea” enjoyed talking on the phone, listening to the radio and going to the Center.
Hattie transitioned this life on August 17, 2020 at Parkwood Health Care Facility, Phenix City, Alabama.
She was predeceased by siblings Georgia Brundidge, Samuel Lloyd, James Streeter, Willie Lee Streeter, and Essie Nell Streeter.
She is survived by a son, Alvin C. Lloyd, Hurtsboro; a grandson, Alvin C. Lloyd, Jr., Ruleville, Mississippi; siblings: Josie Long, Carlena Howard (Charles), Johnny Streeter (Mildred), LeRoyal Streeter (Queen), and Mittie Streeter; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
