Veronica Lee Wynn, affectionately known as Pookie, was born November 3, 1984 in Columbus, Georgia to Robenia Thomas Wynn and the late Fletcher Lee Wynn. She was the fifth sibling of six children and the only daughter.
As a teenager, Veronica accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at Andrew Chapel AME Zion Church.
Veronica was a 2003 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskegee, Alabama. She continued. her studies at The Rivertown School of Beauty in Columbus, Georgia where she was a 2009 graduate and became a licensed Cosmetologist. On May 31, 2021, she completed courses in esthetics. She later attended Troy University where she studied Business Administration. Veronica attended many hair shows and events. She gained certification as a Sister Loctician and formulated her own business, AuNatural.
Veronica, a proud mother of two children, wore many hats. She was very outgoing, creative and a very hard worker. Her work resume includes experience at Wayne Farms in Union Springs, Alabama, customer service representative for Verizon Wireless, substitute teacher for the Lee, Macon and Russell County School Systems. In addition, Veronica was also a Cosmetologist for City Redd's Barber Shop and Divine Design Hair Salon in Tuskegee, Alabama. She also worked as an Overnight Associate for Wal-Mart in Opelika, Alabama. In her spare time, Veronica provided free hair services for Back-to-School Events. She also enjoyed softball, basketball, dancing, traveling, painting, and photography. She was very supportive of others and went out of her way to help anyone.
In April 2024, Veronica joined The United States Army. She made her earthly transition on April 29, 2024 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. In addition to her beloved father, Fletcher Lee Wynn, Veronica is preceded in death by her grandmother, Irene B. Wynn; grandfathers, Stately Lee Wynn and John W. Thomas, Sr.; uncle, Echols Lee Wynn; and brother, Jarvis Spencer.
Veronica's beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Courtney Martin, Hurtsboro, Alabama, and Caniya Martin (Brandon Davis), Dupont, Washington; mother, Robenia Thomas Wynn, Hurtsboro, Alabama; four brothers: Kelly (Marci) Wynn, Las Vegas, Nevada, Antonio (Heather) Wynn, Letohatchee, Alabama, Bernard Tolbert, Tuskegee, Alabama, and Kevin (Angelia) Cobb, Columbus, Georgia; two grandmothers: Rosie Thomas, Hurtsboro, Alabama and Martha Jo Wynn, Hamilton, Ohio; four aunts: Irene W. Smith, Union Springs, Alabama, Early (R.L.) Smith, Hurtsboro, Alabama, Effie J. Thomas, Hurtsboro, Alabama, and Marandia (Steven) Feagins, Seale, Alabama; five uncles: John (Carolyn) Thomas, Hurtsboro, Alabama, Eddie (Lutricia) Thomas, Hurtsboro, Alabama., Dennis (Michelle) Thomas, Hurtsboro, Alabama, Ret. Sgt. Major Tony Wynn, North Augusta, SC., and Earl (Annie) Neal-Wynn-Hamilton, OH; sister-in-law: Kenyatta Spencer, Fort Mitchell; a special friend, Antonio Leonard; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-aunts, greatuncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
