Obituary for Sadie Patterson
Mrs. Sadie Patterson, one of Hurtsboro, Alabama's native daughters, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Central Standard Time, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Shady Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, 461 Shady Grove Road, Hurtsboro, with interment to follow at Andrew Chapel Church Cemetery, Battle Road, Hurtsboro. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 P.M. CST until 6:00 P.M. CST on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Stovall Funeral Home, 605 Main Street, Hurtsboro, Alabama, (334) 667-7679.
Mrs. Patterson was born April 6, 1963 to Limuel Hubbard and Ida Mae Thomas. She attended the Russell County Training School in Hurtsboro, graduated from Cody High School in Detroit, Michigan, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana, and was an educator. She was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church in Custer, Washington. She was married to the Reverend David Patterson for 32 years. Mrs. Patterson was predeceased by her husband and her mother.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son; Noah Patterson, Bellingham, Washington; father, Limuel (Sandra) Hubbard, Detroit MI.; step-mother, Mary Kellum; Detroit MI.; two brothers: Johnny F. Thomas, Hurtsboro AL and Shannon (LeWanda) Hubbard, Phoenix, AZ.; six sisters: Sharon (Steven) Hunter, Stephanie (Anthony) Estes, Sylvia Hubbard, Syerra Hubbard, Syenna Hubbard, and Synthia Hubbard, all of Detroit MI; aunts: Mary Oliver, Detroit MI, Izella (David) Harris, Cora Sykes, and Christine Thomas of Hurtsboro AL., and Gloria Thomas, Phenix City AL.; uncles: David Hubbard, Detroit MI, Jimmie (Julia) Thomas, Theodis (Alice) Thomas and Rayfield (Ocie) Hubbard of Hurtsboro AL, Nathan Hubbard, Pittsburgh PA, Asa Hubbard, Chicago IL, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
