Obituary for Robert Mack Thomas
Mr. Robert M. "Hawk Man" Thomas, 60, passed on September 21, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. CST, Monday, September 27, 2021 at Shady Grove Rest Haven Cemetery, Hurtsboro, Alabama, with Reverend L.C. Thomas officiating.
Robert was born on December 3, 1960, in Hurtsboro, Alabama, to Mr. Frank Tyner, Sr., and the late Cora Sykes. He received his formal education at Russell County Training School in Hurtsboro. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Benning Hills Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. He was employed by 2A USA, Auburn, Alabama, as a Machinist. In addition to his father, he leaves to cherish his memory three sisters: Lashonda Sykes, Auburn, Alabama; Felicia (Chris) Baker, Seale, Alabama; and Clara (Tony) Woodson, New Jersey; five brothers: Vincent (Alaina) Sykes, Smith Station, Alabama; Rickey Sykes, Frank (Chevonne) Tyner, and Darryl Tyner, all of Hurtsboro; and Kenneth (Jesse) Tyner, Midway, Georgia; a special friend, Shanita Holloway, Columbus, Georgia; one aunt, Izella (David) Harris, Hurtsboro; two uncles: Jimmy Thomas, Jr., and Theotis Thomas, both of Hurtsboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.
