Obituary for Henery "Tommy Lee" Upshaw
Henery “Tommy Lee” Upshaw, of Hurtsboro, Alabama passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 at The Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama. Funeral services for Mr. Upshaw will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. Central Daylight Time, at the St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Hurtsboro.
Mr. Upshaw was born on June 26, 1961 to Everlina Upshaw in Hurtsboro, Alabama. He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and rededicated his life to the Lord shortly before his passing. He was a graduate of the Russell County Schools system. He is being remembered today by his family, friends, and the Hurtsboro community. Mr. Upshaw lived life with an upbeat attitude and was known as a hard worker. Simple things brought Tommy Lee joy. He liked working with his hands, helping others, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers, Robert Upshaw and Joseph Upshaw. He leaves to cherish his memories three sisters: Rosie (Nate) Bussey, LaGrange, Georgia; Annie (Curtis) Austin, Phenix City, Alabama; and Sheila Upshaw, Hurtsboro, Alabama; two brothers: Eddie Upshaw, Hurtsboro, Alabama, and Morris Upshaw, Union Springs, Alabama; one uncle, Joe Lewis Upshaw, Union Springs, Alabama; one aunt, Edna Upshaw, Hurtsboro, Alabama, and a host of other relatives and friends.
