Mr. Bill Harris was born October 11, 1957, to Tom Harris, Sr., and Mildred Robinson-Harris in Hurtsboro, AL. He received his formal education at the Russell County Training School in Hurtsboro. Mr. Harris confessed his belief in Jesus Christ and united with the Nero Baptist Church in Hurtsboro. He had been employed with the Bibb Manufacturing Company in Columbus, GA.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by both parents; his wife, Gloria Harris; one son, Kentrell Bowens; two brothers: Melvin Maddox and Tom Harris, Jr., and two sisters: Vickie and Barbara Maddox.
Bill transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, LaTaurus Harris of Hurtsboro; two sons: Tony Harris and Eric (Mary) Cochran, Phenix City, AL; seven brothers: Richard (Mary) Harris, George Harris, Nelson Harris, Clifford Maddox, all of Hurtsboro; Nathan Harris, Phenix City; Johnny Harris, Eufaula, AL; Clarence (Valerie) Maddox, Atlanta, GA; and Rickey Landers, Milwaukee, WI; six sisters: Janice Harris, Audrey (Stanley) Bowens, and Brenda Maddox, all of Phenix City, AL; Sandra (Ronald) Melvin, Augusta, GA; Doris Harris and Mary Catherine Lewis, both of Columbus, GA; 17 grandchildren, one great-grand child, and a host of other relatives and friends.
